According to what John Carpenter said in the Director's Cut of 'Escape From New York,' it was cut for time!. I personally think that it gives a little more insight into Snake Plissken, but Mr!. Carpenter did not feel it was necessary!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
It was probably cut for time constraints!. Plus, it gives Snake a more mysterious past when he's introduced later!. Snake's a bad *** but your imagination makes him a bigger, badder badass because you don't know EXACTLY what he did!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Probably because it wasn't necessary to the audience's understanding of the story!.
