I thought it was pretty terrible!. They'd say "what's that noise" and you never heard a noise, and then they'd say "look over there" and you couldn't see anything!. Not what I want from a horror film and I do get scared watching horrors if they're good, I'm not one of these people who've become de-sensitised to it all!.

The hype was good and the idea, but I didn't enjoy the camera work or the bad sound!. Even if they'd kept the shakey footage for authenticity, I think they should have tidied up the sound so that we could actually hear something apart from that gir's monotonous voice!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The movie itself wasn't all that good, but it was hyped up to be the next big thing!.

When it first came out I thought it was made by a bunch of high school kids messing around in their backyard with their dad's video camera!.

I thought that was pretty good for a bunch of amateurs!.

But then I found out that wasn't the case which was even more of a disappointment due to the crappy performance and quality of the movie!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well when it first came out in 1999, I'd just finished high school and was organizing a 'horror' slumber party with some friends at this old run down hospital, and I'd popped by the video rental store the day before and asked the guy for the scariest new release!. He gave me the Blair witch project !.

At the slumber party (at the old hospital) we dragged a TV and vcr there and we watched the blair witch project, not knowing what it was about, and with a lot of confusion, mainly cause it only lasted for awhile and they'd only put the producer's name at the end (not the actors' and director credit) and my cousin from australia's insistance that it IS a true story, well it freaked the living daylights out of me!. When we checked it out online, there was this whole website talking about the blair witch project ordeal, with pictures of police at the 'murder' site etc!.

Only abt 5 years later did i know it was all a hoax and became such a publicized thing and all !.

So given the circumstances i guess it was scary, and it was a pioneer of 'hand held camera docudramas' so a sheer genius of an idea which became a blockbuster for an obviously small budget movie!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It was shot with hand held cameras for a more "real" feel; they made up rumors and used the internet to make it seem like it actually happened, then there is the famous scene where the guy is talking into the camera saying how scared he is!.

If you watch it all the bouncing of the camera might make you motion sick!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

you know the funny thing

When it first came out it was big!.

It was interesting

that lasted untill the oscars later that year (or next year) when the three actors show up and help present awards!. it ruined the whole concept!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Aparently others saw something in it I did not seee either, as several people are copying it's style of filming in both TV shows and even motion pictures!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The big deal is they say it actually happened!.

I saw it in theaters, and I didn't really care for it that much!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
