Stephen King's It???!
Question: Stephen King's It!?!?!?
I'm 14 and I haven't seen very many scary movies so I was thinking about watching Stephen King's It!. I don't usually get freaked out by scary movies (or at least the few I've seen like Poltergeist, The Grudge, Signs and a few more i cant remember the names of) but, I've heard that It is pretty scary so I'm not sure if I want to go from having not seen anything that scared me that bad to something that scares the hell out of me!. also, I was reading a few comments on a website about it and most of the people said it was ok if your not scared of clowns (which don't frighten me the least bit) So, basically I just want some opinions on whether or not you recommend watching this or if you think it will totally freak me out!. When I was a kid that movie really scared me,especially Pennywise the clown,but as an adult I find it kind of cheesy and almost laughable!.I'd say The Grudge is way more creepy than "It" so you should be just fine!.

I saw this movie when I was younger and it scared the crap out of me!. There was something really evil about the way that clown acted and looked (at that time)!. I havent watched it since and just thinking about attempting to watch it again, after so long, still scares me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

To me, It isn't as scary as the ones you've listed!. It's more fun scary!. It's not terrifying!. The clown phobia comment is dead on!. To what other answerers have said, yeah, it is a little cheesy in places, but it's still a lot of fun and definitely worth the watch!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
The movie is okay!.!.!.but you should really read the book!. People always say books are better!.!.!.that's because it is usually true!. It is VERY long, but it is worth it!. Well my big brother tricked me into watching it with him in the middle of the night when I was like 4!.!.!.and it terrified me! Of course I've never watched it again and don't think I ever will, to this day I am terrified of clowns because of that movie!Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think you'll find "Pennywise" the clown pretty scary, but if you love scary movies like I do, you gonna love this one!.

yeah, im 14 too and it does have a jump scene or two, and the clown is pretty effing creepy, but it is a different kind of horror!. beware, it is 3 hours long!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'd say watch in during the day!. Ummmm it's not the fact that it's a clown it looks like a killer in a clown costume!. I don't know, i still haven't watched it and i'm grown!. Some of it IS dated and will look old school but to me, that thing is the scariest b/c it's old school 80s where the monster might not look horrid, but it just stares at you and you get the chillsssssss

in my opinion "grudge" vs "It" is not a good comparison!. "It" is so much more psychological than "Grudge"!. "It" is a movie that plays with the minds ability to stay a kid, in other words, as you grew/grow up we are taught that clowns are good, funny, friendly!. In the movie!.!.!.!.well!.!.!.!.!.!.!. not so true!.
Grudge, is more based on playing with what your mind may or may not believe in!. As a child some of us had fears of beings under our bed or in the closet, and ghost stories of types are always popular at sleep overs!.
In short, I would not recommend "It" not yet, wait a few years, or at least watch it in the day time and when you know the circus won't be in town, and no birthday parties scheduled in the near future!.!. ha ha ha ha

If you've handled those other films, you should be able to tackle "It", a made-for-TV miniseries!. I would say it has scares equivalent to the "Poltergeist" trilogy and U!.S!. versions of Japanese films such as "The Grudge" and "The Ring"!.
I haven't looked at the rating for "It", but I would imagine that it wouldn't be above PG13, if that!.
But, it's very creepy, with some surprisingly effective special effects!. I very much enjoy it every time I see it!. You may never be the same around bathroom sinks!. Just that scene has inspired so many moments in other films!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
