Its a war movie, I thought it had Nicolas Cage and/or Meg Ryan but after doing a search none of their movies ring a bell!.
Anyways, these two people are in love and the guy is going off to war!. The girl laces his boots with red shoe laces!. Later on, for some reason she is standing in front of a big screen tv with a bunch of military guys in a big room, watching footage of the ppl who died in the war and she sees a body with the red shoe laces and knows it him and falls over crying!.
