Which do you think is a better Adventure sci-fi etc!. 2001: A Space Odyssey (Kubrick) or Close Encounters of A Third Kind (Spielberg)!.

Well, Stanley Kubrick and Steven Spielberg have quite different approaches to filmmaking; it depends on what style suits you best!. Kubrick is more surreal; most of his movie has no dialogue, and is full of classical music, and the ending is difficult to understand!.
Spielberg is more for the average Joe; he makes movies from the point of view of the average American, gives us something we can connect with!. Some of his best movies take place in suburbia, and the characters are people like you and I!. Then he takes this "ordinary" situation and throws in a "what if"!. Like, "what if" an alien landed in suburban America!? "What if" an average guy with a house and a a family and a job witnesses a UFO!? "What if" a normal, everyday guy with stresses and cares just like the rest of us was harrassed on the highway by a psychotic trucker, and forced into a game of cat-and-mouse!?
So, they both are good movies, but like I said, it depends on what style of films you like to watch!. If you're into action, you might be bored by 2001, but if you like to think "deep", you might like it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I gotta agree with Simon C!. "2001" was definitely a better film that doesn't mean that "Close Encounters" was crap or anything, I'm just saying "2001" is a timeless classic that future generations will enjoy!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

While Close Encounters is great the first time, it doesn't hold up as well upon repeat viewings!. 2001 always stays fresh!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
