Answers:
1) In the movie, Forrest first runs because Jenny told him to run!. The running was a metaphor for confronting ones problems!. Jenny could not confront her problems!. She always ran away from them!. Forrest actually does confront all of his problems!. The only time that he runs to escape a problem or issue is when Jenny leaves him!.
2) I don't think that there is really a point to the color scheme!.
3) The makers of the movie were not making a statement about U!.S!. History!. They were simply focusing on Forrest's journey throughout life!. I think that they used all of the historical references to highlight the point that life can take you many different places!. That life, itself, is a journey, and that one benefits most from being a part of this journey, not running away from it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Stop trying to intellectualise the movie by reading things into a movie that aren't there - speak to the film makers and you will see that Forest Gump is a blockbuster that is meant to entertain people, nothing more!. It is like when a critic asked Peter Jackson if King Kong was a movie about musculanity, to which Jackson gave the classic reply, "really!? I thought it was a film about a giant monkey"

The reason that Forest Gump could run is simply a story telling device!. He couldn't rely on his own intelligence so he had to rely on this physical abilities instead!. The movie is a light hearted film, for the most part - the bright colour scheme reflects this!.

This movie is not Platoon, the filmmakers are not trying to make any political statements about war or the 60s!. They are merely reporting on the affairs of that period since Forest himself is a witness to the 60s!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

1!. Forrest grew up trapped in the leg braces!. Finally he was able to break free from the "chains that held him" and he went on with a successful life!. So he honored his freedom by running!.

2!. Who cares about color schemes!. Can't people just watch a movie instead of pondering about whether or not the producer or director has some secret message encoded in the movie!.

3!. I don't think they are saying anything!. Forrest grew up during that time!. Forrest could have grown up during the Revolutionary War and told George Washington that he had to pee!. But we couldn't have been able to relate as an audience as easily, now could we!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
