My mom shrugged off REQUIEM FOR A DREAM...?!

Question: My mom shrugged off REQUIEM FOR A DREAM!.!.!.!?
Okay, so I saw Requiem for a Dream for the first time last night!. I NEVER tear up during movies, but this movie had me crying!. I was moved after watching it and deeply disturbed by the idea that thousands of drug-addicted people out in the world are treated like that!. Deeply!.

So, I rushed out today, bought the movie and showed it to my mom!. When the movie was over I wiped the tears from my eyes and turned around to look at her, expecting my mom's face to be soaked with tears!. Instead, her face was dry and she sat blinking her eyes at me!. I was shocked!

She thought the movie was "good and eye-opening!." She was not at all moved!. To me it's like shrugging off Schindler's List or City of God!

Am I the only one disturbed by this movie!? I'm not making a big deal about it!.!.!. I guess I was just shocked!.!.!. My mom cries at everything!. But not Requiem for a DreamWww@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
I didn't cry over that movie, but it was depressing!. There are a number of reasons why your mom wouldn't cry, maybe she was shocked by the gruesomeness of the missing arm, or the two girls forced to have sex!. Or maybe she has no sympathy for drug addicts, thinking that it's their own fault and they deserve to be where they are!. Couldn't say for sure, but wouldn't hurt to get your moms take on those issues!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

this is one of my favorite movies!. why are you disturbed that the addicts are treated like that!?!?!?!? they chose that path!. they are a decay to society!. the movie is about the people's self destruction of their lives!.
requiem= a song played at a funeral
so their dream dies!.
I cry when i see this movie because my mom is an addict!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Those Aronofsky films are indeed DEEP, but not for everyone!. I found I couldn't really relate to the whole drug addiction thing, so I think I actually turned it off half-way through!.

Now, The Fountain was something that I really enjoyed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It was a very depressing movie!. Well made and very poignant, but depressing and heavy!. I did not cry but it was definitely a downer!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
