Question: The Wachowski Brothers or George Lucas-better filmmaker!?
Although I'm a fan of George Lucas, it was interesting that I couldn't sit comfortably through The Phantom Menace!. However, I had no problem sitting through The Matrix!. Anyone else here believe that Lucas's time has come and gone!? Thanks in advance!Www@Enter-QA@Com

personally I think Lucas is a better producer than director!. He doesn't write scripts well and I think he only directed the first 4 episodes of Star Wars, from the Phantom Menace to A New Hope!.
The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi were not directed by him, only produced!.
The Wachowski Bros!. are amazing IMO!. I think they're able to see a bit more outside the box in the filmmaking realm!. Their writing is superb, I believe they wrote the screenplay for V for Vendetta as well!.
So personally for me, I think the Wachowski Bros!. are a bit more cutting edge!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i totally agree with the guy above, you can't argue that the matrix wasn't a completely original and brilliant movie, however i really didn't like the sequels at all and from the sounds of thinks speed racer isn't up to much although i haven't seen it yet!. George Lucas isn't the best scriptwriter - episode 1 and 2 there was some terrible scripts, but star wars is amazing! and the Indiana jones movies are fantastic too, so much fun and i don't think he takes himself as seriously as the wachowski brothers so i would have to go with him!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
They're very different, so you can't really compare!.
George "Toy Boy" Lucas has great ideas, but he's not very good at writing them!. Example - Episodes 1, 2, 3 and 6!.
Leigh Bracket wrote the script for Empire and actually gave the characters depth and substance; and Irwin Kirshner directed the movie which is why Empire even looks so much better than the rest!.

A die hard Star Wars fan will tell you that Lucas is GOD; While The Matrix fans (like myself) will tell you The Wachowski's are the BEST!.!.!.Your pretty much comparing apples with oranges on this one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
