The strange case of Dr. jekyl and Mr. hyde - which Movieversions do u like the b!

Question: The strange case of Dr!. jekyl and Mr!. hyde - which Movieversions do u like the best!?
1!. 1941 with Spencer Tracy
2!. 1968 with Jack Palance
3!. 2006 with Tony Todd (this one is a modern casting & adaptation which were set and played in our modern day)!. The script s interresting but it has nothing to do with 18th & 19th century Gothic Horrortraditions anymore!.

my faves are the first two

this one is the same case like the Franco Zerifelli′s version of Romeo and Juliet 1968 with Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting which the director still used a renaissance drama style and an italian romanticism!. One cannot find these elements in the new trashed Dicaprio′s version anymore!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think the one with Spencer Tracy is the best one, he's the most subtle of all portrayals, and I think it's the version that best puts accross all the themes of the story that the book was getting at, but I enjoy the Fredrick March one the most because he's just puts so much into it and no-one Else will ever be able to play it like that again!. I haven't seen the J!.Palance or T!.Todd ones but I'll look out for them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My favorite adaptation of Stevenson's story is the one made in 1932, starring Fredric March as Jekyll and Hyde, directed by Rouben Mamoullian!. Fine acting (March won a Best Actor Oscar for it), good photography and well-plotted---March's performance as Hyde is thoroughly scary, even today!.
Of the three you've listed, Jack Palance's telefilm for Dan Curtis was very well done--I've seen it a couple of times and enjoyed the performances, particularly Palance's and that of Billie Whitlaw as Mr!. Hyde's object of affection(!?), as well as Curtis' capture of the Victorian settings!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
