I Have a Movie Question!!! Please Help! I'm Desperate!!!!!?!

My boyfriend and his sister are always talking about a movie that they used to watch when they were little, but neither of them can think of what it was called!. It is about 2 girls that are about twelve years old and they are befriended by a cartoon frog, some of the characters are cartoon but it is real settings and the girls are real!. They go through the 4 seasons possibly searching for father time (no one can really remember it all) my boyfriend does remember them being in a cave at one point!.
