Question: How do I convince my parents to let me buy Sweeney Todd!?
I've already seen the movie, I just wasn't allowed to watch it!. I loved it, and now I want to purchase it!. I'm not allowed to buy it, though!. I've told my parents that it is extremely fake (the judge's blood squirting twenty feet) but they still won't let me see it!. If I tell them that I have already seen it they won't even consider it (that happened with the new Halloween)!. They normally aren't upset by blood, just nudity, but they for some reason don't want me to see this movie!. Please don't respond to this by telling me that they are right, and I shouldn't see it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You may not be able to convince them without telling them that you saw it already!. This means that you have to take what the decide is punishment for disobeying them, and then they would probably say you couldn't buy it anyway!.
From the previews, I understand your parents reticence!.
If they will let you rent it, and they watch it with you, then you may get by without telling them you've seen it, and they may agree!.
But honesty is the best policy!. Because if they find out you have seen it and lied to them, then there are two rules you broke!.

the only way i can see is to tell them youve already seen it!. have they seen it!? get them to check it out first, then remind them that you'll get more sex from ten minutes of mtv than you will from half the movies you're not supposed to be watching!. :) talk to them calmly and like the adult you want to be considered as, if theyve done any sort of parenting, you should be able to watch whatever you want!. (i was, because i had active parents)

Dude, they are right! You mentioned (in your other postings) that you burst out laughing when the judge was stabbed and blood squirted 20 feet!. I would define that as abnormal behavior!. EVEN FOR A FAKE SCENE! Especially for a 13 year old who shouldn't be on Yahoo! Answers anyway!.
I must support and can see where your parents are coming from!. As a fan of the film, I think everyone should give it a chance, but I have to support your parents in their decision!. Rest assured, someday you will move out and can buy whatever movie you want!.

well first of all, your parents are correct, and secondly, you shouldnt watch it!. i dont say this because its too graphic, only because it has a very negative effect on your intelligence!. you see, Johnny Depp is a complete and total idiot, with no intelligence of any kind!.!.!.at all!. in fact, he shouldnt be called Johnny Depp, he should be called intelligence vacuum!. so you watching him will in turn suck some of your intelligence into the black hole that is Johnny Depp!. so i say that you shouldnt see it not because of any personal bias or dislike on my part, but because i am worried for your own intelligence!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
How old are you!? I took my 14 year old to it and we fell in LOVE with it and the music! There is no nudity, crudity, or loads of foul language!. It's simply very bloody and incredibly wonderful! Maybe if you let them look up some reviews on the show, and tell them it's an off-Broadway classic, and that it will fill you with culture and knowledge and maybe help you to become a more literary youth, it will help your case!. It's truly a fabulous movie, even though I had to close my eyes during the bloody parts!. It's a movie I would recommend and allow my teen to see!. I hope you get to buy the movie!.

Maybe I'm destroyed from my childhood (because mom love sci-fi and horror and she always let me stay up late to watch X-files when I was 6), but I don't find it scary or disturbing at all!. Yes, there's a lot of blood, but do they let you watch sports!? Athletes get hurt all the time!.
Sweeney Todd is one of my favorite musicals, and when the movie came out I was thrilled!. If I had children I would let them watch it!. They need to see something other than those awful high school musicals!. Maybe if you can make your parents watch the movie, they'll realize it's not as bad as they think!.
Otherwise you can go watch the musical played live by real musical-artists!. I promise, it will be even better!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
