Question: About the scene of killing the Lion in "Narnia movie" in 2005!?
Disney pictures did great job about this movie, and I enjoyed the story and beautiful graphics, but I could not stand the scene of lynching the lion by so many creatures and the queen!. Do you think this lynching scene is a good for children to learn moral!? I just felt heartbreaking and quit watching the movie!. This scene seriously reminds me AbGraib of Iraq!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
The scene contains a great deal of symbolism regarding the forces of evil attacking, but as you know, ultimately failing to conquer good!. I think the author had the Nazis and Italian facists in mind with the lion being Great Britain!. Keeping that in mind, to compare it to Abu Graid(sp!?) is like comparing Ted Bundy to the boy who breaks your window playing baseball!. If you explain that we should always combat evil and never allow it to succeed, I think it's an important lesson for children!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

So they should have cut that part out of the movie (that was in the book) to make it more palatable to the masses!?

The book/movie is a thinly veiled re-telling of Jesus' life!.!.!.!.!.cutting that out would kind of defeat the purpose, wouldn't it!?

It *was* PG-13, you know!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it's ok to expose kids to something besides constant happiness in a movie!. I don't think a child is going to be traumatized by a disturbing or tragic scene!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's a metaphor for Jesus Christ!. The lion rises from the dead a few days later!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
