Question: Anybody read the book AND watch the movie "The Mist!?"!?
I just saw the movie, and I liked it!. But that ending was depressing as hell, jeeze! Anyway, I just found out that it wasn't the original ending written by Stephen King!. Does anybody know what the ending of the book was!? I'd be curious to know, because people seem to hate the movie ending!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Basically, the book ended with the father and son driving off to find others!. They can't get any signal on the radio, and they don't know whether not they will find anyone!.
I've heard that in previous editions of the book, Stephen King explains that he didn't know how to end the story, and that's why it just seems to trail off!. I saw on the DVD extras of the movie that the director and script writer came up with the movie ending and passed it by Stephen King before they started filming!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Since the other poster answered I will only say I loved the movie til the end!. It was a huge depressing blow and totally ruined the rest of the movie!. Definately a movie I would never be interested in watching again!. Most good movies I like watching again in the future but this one was a HUGE disappointment!Www@Enter-QA@Com
the ending in the book is an open ending that doesn't really tell you what happened, but instead allows you to somewhat have it end as you see fit!. the book was much better than the movie and i would recommend reading it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
