Movies Which Tarantino Was Inspired By??!

Question: Movies Which Tarantino Was Inspired By!?!?
It seems that pretty much all of the stand-out visuals in director Quentin Tarantino's films, have basis and inspiration from classic exploitation genre films of the past, and I am having absolute and enlightening fun, trying to track down such films; with the exception of Tarantino and director Robert Rodriguez, nobody, absolutely nobody, makes films anymore, like they did back in the exploitation era (!.!.!.i!.e!., the late '60's, through the early '80's)!.!.!.

Keeping this in mind, there IS a very viceral image, in one of the Tarantino movies, which I have been very hard pressed in finding, as far as what inspired that particular image; it is the infamous ear-cutting scene in "Reservoir Dogs"!. Although I'm sure that is was inspired by something, I almost can't imagine a film, that would have done so!. Perhaps someone out there, more Tarantino savvy than myself, can help out, here!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

!.!.!.you might want to keep in mind, that many of the classic and well-known scenes in Quentin's movies, might have drawn inspiration from more than one specific movie, and to peg specific scenes down to one particular movie, as far as what inspired that particular scene, might be a futile exercise in vagueness!.!.!.

!.!.!.however, if I had to suggest a particular movie, which I think that might have inspired the classic scene in "Reservoir Dogs", where Michael Madsen's character, Mr!. White, chops off the tied-up cop's ear with a razor, I would be inclined to have you check out an old '60's Italian spaghetti western, entitled "Django"; this rather graphic and visceral film definitely has a very unflinchingly enacted ear-chopping scene, which is actually much more graphic than what the scene in "Reservoir Dogs" depicts!.!.!.!.

I read an article in the now defunct Premier magazine that Tarantino claimed to have"seen every expliotation movie ever made" and seeing films like "Reservoir Dogs", "Kill Bill 1&2" among others, I would say that he was very liberal and far from specific when it came to using the films that inspired himWww@Enter-QA@Com

I know he was heavilly influenced by Ring Lam's "City On Fire"

(some critics say he ripped it off)Www@Enter-QA@Com
