Toss-up between TRIPLE X and PITCH BLACK!.
PITCH BLACK had a really simple, focused storyline and V Diesel's character had a very specific ability (only being able to see in the dark) that helped drive the story!.
It was a low budget production, which usually means studio heads and producers probably didn't meddle too much with it!. This leaves the director with more autonomy, which usually results in higher quality movies!.
TRIPLE X also had a simple story, and the movie didn't go out of its way to be cool or pretentious!. It was fun, a little stupid, and it looks like everyone involved just had a great time making it!. The actors were good, but mostly unknown in Hollywood!. Since Sam Jackson was the only big name star, the filmmakers probably focused most of the budget on stunts and visuals (which accounts for most of the film's appeal)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Even though he is one of the characters, Knockaround Guys is my fav Vin Disel, just because he explains to the guy about trying to get to 500 fights:
