Question: How can someone have a movie on dvd before it releases in theatres!?
Ok, i have a friend who 6 months ago gave me a dvd to watch, at the time i didn't pay attention to it, but today, i found the dvd again and noticed it was the movie "88" minutes with al pacino!. How can that be!?!?, the movie released in theatres last month, how could he have gotten it 6 months ago!?!?!? i can't ask him because he left for chile 6 months ago!. Now, it is the same movie, i just watched it and it the same one i watched in theatres!. How can that be!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

88 Minutes was released in a handful of countries in 2007!. Tristar acquired the US distribution rights for it in May 2007 but they withheld its release until just recently!. I'm guessing that since your friend is in Chile that the movie was already released there or he visited another country where it was released and bought it!. It could also be a bootleg copy, but if it isn't then it is most likely because it was a legitimate copy released in another country!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I can't believe you'd watch that awful movie twice!. It got only 6% on Rotten Tomatoes!. That's 95 rotten reviews and 6 good reviews!. Consensus anyone!?
To answer your question, they finished and shelved this movie months ago in order to release it during the crummy late winter season when they dump all the bad films as far from Academy Awards consideration as possible!. You can find movies on online sites months before the movie has even had its premiere, I am guessing that someone from the movie studio or something leaks it!. I had mr bean the 2nd movie on my ipod about 3 months before it came out, i just downloaded it from a website!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
It may be a pirated copy, but sometimes a film studio is not sure of the movie's potential in theatres, and will release limited dvds to see the public reaction!. If it is favourable, then they will release it for theatre distribution; if not, they will just release more dvds, and hope sales will recoup production costsWww@Enter-QA@Com
