Question: Do films have someone in their production team to correct possible goofs!?
I was just wondering if there is an actual person who looks out for this kind of stuffWww@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Yes and they are called 'CONTINUITY' something or other!. The 'Continuity Manager' for want of a better title, is supposed to keep a clip-board of notes - such as, brown suit, red handkerchief, white tie etc!. This means we're not going to be suddenly confronted with a blue handkerchief in the next shot which may have been done several days or even weeks after shot number one etc!.

Take 100 etc!. !. !. !.

The script supervisor is the person in charge of continuity during the shooting process!. They keep track of all the little details in each shot!.
Often, though, continuity errors sneak through to the final print of a film due to the editing process!. An editor may use a piece of a particular shot that the script supervisor noted as having an error (for example, a glass of wine that was full in three takes of a shot was only half full in a fourth take) because that take had the strongest performance of the actors, or the best camera movement, or for various other reasons!.
It's, frankly, impossible to get actors to do the EXACT same thing each take!. Body movements will always be slightly different, and many are prone to ad-libbing, so every take is a little different, and this can sometimes show up in the final cut of a film!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Most movies will have a continuity guy or gal- this is usually to maintain visual continuity because, of course, movies and TV are rarely shot in exact scene order!.

EG!. In scene 1013, Agent Mulder has a torn left shirt sleeve and is carrying a mag light!. Half of this scene is filmed on location and half of it 2 weeks later on a soundstage at Fox studios!. The Continuity person's job is to make sure that everything looks the same way as it did 2 weeks ago!.

This is a simplistic view of a cont!. persons job!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes, it's called continuity!.

Look at the credits at the end of the film and you will see the continuity person listed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes!. Continuity (but most of them seem to miss bits! - like proofreaders for books, who also miss loads!. Call me picky, but I find it detracts from the experience when you see these gaffes!.)Www@Enter-QA@Com
