How come people are always flying around in martial arts films?!

Question: How come people are always flying around in martial arts films!?
People always fly around, through trees, over water and things in films such as Hero, House of Flying Daggers and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon!.
Why is this even in the films!? It removes most of the realism of the fight sequences!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

ah Grasshopper you seek to enlighten yourself!.!.!.

Special effects add to the "mysticism" and romance of the movie!. Martial arts training is deep and very mental dependant!. The idea of flying or otherwise overcoming natural forces adds to the depth of the training the movie characters have!. I once saw a fight seen where the "master" takes on a circle of people and uses nothing but a rolled up piece of paper!. The legendary Bruce Lee did a lot of stunts himself, mostly that of a small trampoline to get over fences!. But he also had the ability to get pretty high on his own!. Jet Li and Jackie chan as well!. Chuck Norris!.!.!.what ever is high comes down to him !

More mysticism!.!.!.!.am I correct or it is not special effects at all and a properly trained martial artist likes to strut his stuff!.!? To get a good idea of non martial art but probably same basic training, watch the Circ de Soleil, and the ability of body strength there!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Not all martial arts films are like that!.

House of flying daggers is beautiful at times!. But really there is a martial arts film to suit every taste so if you're not into guys flying around on wires and slo mo stuff then look elsewhere there's plenty of choice!.

I really like Once Upon A Time in China it's an Early Jet Li film and it's brilliant with hardly a wire in sight!. Perhaps the films you mention are simply following a current trend in China for 'visual splender' films!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You want realism, go to your local bar and call some big dude a homo!.

You want a beautiful balletic visual treat then watch one of the films you mentioned!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

They are mythic anyway!. i feel it adds to the lyricism of the filmWww@Enter-QA@Com
