!.!.!.funny thing, about this movie; I only saw it once, back in the late '80's, on a barely watchable 5th or 6th generation 'bootleg' video cassette!. A very perverse and twisted idea for a film, to be sure, but with a pitch-black sense of humor (!.!.!.rubber on the broomstick, eyeball in the skull, that almost cartoonish sex/death suicide, at the end, etc!.!.!.)!. Later on, I purchased the officially released videocasette (!.!.!.through a company called Film Threat) of the film, as well as it's sequel, "Nekromantik 2: The Return of the Loving Dead", but never watched them; knowing what was depicted in the movie, I very much felt extremely perverse, twisted and dirty, in sitting through either of these films, especially alone!. If at the very least, they have made for great conversation pieces, in my film collection, and despite my description of the film, and my warnings about the specifically sick and graphic scenes within, people whom I have spoke to, have requested to borrow the tapes, and then later, returned the tapes quickly, all the while berating me, for having such filth in my collection!. I mean, good grief, didn't I warn them!?!?!? (!.!.!.and this has come from seasoned horror fans, too; heck, one guy wanted to out-and-out burn the tapes!.!.!.and this guy was one of the most jaded horror films fans I knew)!.!.!.!.!.
!.!.!.!.anyways, since then, I have purchased "Nekromantik 1 & 2" on special edition DVDs!. Have I watched them!?!?!? No!!! Do I still talk about them, and lend them out to the curious!?!?!? Yes!!! The closest analogy to why I find myself in such a seemingly polar-contradictive predicament, which I could possibly come up with, is this: I'm sure that traveling circus owners have freak shows, with actual freaks in their repertory; they may not like to look at the freaks, and in fact, might go out of their way not to look at them, but they still have them, for all the gawking curious (!.!.!.and paying) public to see, and that's what make things interesting for the circus owners, as far as conversation, reputation and exploitation!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
