!.!.!.actually, despite having been stereotyped in the role, on the basis of so minimal of movie performances, actor Bela Lugosi played the character of Dracula, only two times, that being 1931's "Dracula", of course, and the other, 1948's "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein"!.!.!.!.
!.!.!.!.in 1935's "Mark of the Vampire", and 1944's "Return of the Vampire" (!.!.!.which are both unrelated to each other), Lugosi played vampire characters, but not Dracula, and the character he played in "Mark!.!.!." wasn't even a vampire!.!.!.!.!.just an actor, playing a vampire, for the purpose of solving a mystery!.!.!.!.

!.!.!.indeed, Lugosi's incarnation of Dracula had a greater sense of charisma and romanticism, as compared to Lee's performance (!.!.!.which might actually explain the reason for why Lugosi was sterertyped in the role; his rendition of the character was very alluring, especially with women); on the other hand, Christopher Lee's Dracula chose to go right for the throat!.!.!.quite literally!.!.!. and exhibit a much more horrific, sadistic and downright bloodthirsty image!.
