Answers:
A great film doesn't have to rely on a soundtrack to extract the emotions of the audience!.

If a scene is meant to pull a particular emotion from the audience, it should be able to do so with the pace and dialogue of the film!. If it is unable to do so and has to rely on music to get the reaction, I wouldn't call it a great film!.

Not to say I don't enjoy a good soundtrack!. Some of the best pieces of music come from movie soundtracks!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i think they both help each other out!.
if a movie is rubbish but has a good soundtrack, the movie will probably succeed because of the music!.
whereas if a movie is good but it has a bad soundtrack, the music will still become popular because its associated with that great movie!.

if both the soundtrack and the movie are rubbish, well then you're screwed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't think good music is a pre-requisite for a classic film!. Obviously if both the film and soundtrack are good, then that's great!. Some great films have bad soundtracks, some bad films have great soundtracks!.

Vanilla Sky-average film, exceptional soundtrack!.

there's an old saying that says that a film should be able to stand up by itself without the soundtrack so with that in mind i have to think that the soundtrack enhances a great film rather than the film make a great soundtrackWww@Enter-QA@Com
