Question: Why would it be a good idea to play the movie schindler's list in an english class!?
So me and my friend are having a sort of debate!.
she says that it would be a good idea to show the movie while i say that it won't!.
she won't back up her argument!.
this was brought on because we just read the book night!.

showing the movie gives you an insight into the horrific things the SS did!.
remember your seeing a movie, actors shooting and killing
other actors with special effects!.
if you ever see the prison camps the real ones in a documentary or in a picture you will never forget the piles of dead bodies, or the site of the ovens that they baked people
in!.
so seeing the movie is dramatic but less horrible way to understand what happened!.
as far as showing it in school, that would depend on how liberal your principal is as they do have some brief nudity!.
A brief sex scene in which female breasts and male buttocks are visible!. Some women are seen topless!. A couple scenes have male and female full-frontal nudity in a non-sexual context!.
when I was in school, 100 years ago we had to get permission to see A Midsummer Night's Dream because one of the fairies breast was exposed for a few seconds!.
your teacher would have to get permission, to avoid any stupid parents from having a fit!.

It's a very heavy movie!. Depending on the sensitivity of your peers they may not be able to handle it!. How old are the students in your class!? Will the parents be informed!? What is the rating of the movie!? I would suggest maybe showing clips to emphasize points but that's about it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
We watched that movie in History class when I was 15 or so!. This was YEARS ago so obviously the film was much newer then, it's a really sad movie and completely worth watching!. If the class just read the book than it does make sense to see the film, a lot of english classes do that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
It would be a good Idea!.It's a good thing to watch because it informs you about the Holocaust!.And yes,it may be violent,but it's also educational!.You should always give new things a chance!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
