I think the ultimate idea is that When you have a "family" (even one that is not by blood) you can get past things you may have trouble with otherwise!.!. you can accomplish great things!.!. Get over fights by talking about them!.!. and when things are going wrong for you!.!. this family may do something unique to help you out !.!. (for example the "funeral" they hold for Debra_)
The family in this is formed around the store, which is dear to every one of them!.!. Even when they hate each other like Gena and Deb, they are bound together by this business!.!.
