Lost In Translation, directed by Sofia Coppola
The film won an oscar for best Original Screenplay, and was nominated for Best Picture and Actor, as well as Sofia Coppola herself being nominated for Best Director!. This was a very high profile film in 2003

This doesnt really count so much, but Penelope Spheeris directed the first Wayne's World lol!. I can't think of any more off the top of my head, you are right, Sofia Coppola is the only obvious one that comes to my mind!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Across The Universe and Frida - two Oscar nominated films written and directed by Julie Taymor!.

Lost In Translation - directed by Francis Ford Coppolla's daughter, Sofia Coppolla!.

Bridget Jones's Diary - directed by Sharon Maguire

Little Miss Sunshine - one of the directors is a female: Valerie Faris

Thirteen - directed by Catherine Hardwicke using a handheld camera!.

The Savages - written and directed by Tamara Jenkins!. She was recently nominated for Best Screenplay!.

That's all I could think of!.!.!. there aren't that many female directors out there!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

"Monster" it's based on a true story starring Charlize Theron as Alleen Wuorno, a prostitute who killed men and is now known as America's first female serial killer!.

straight to the point, it's directed by a woman, lol!. her name is Patty Jenkins, and i think she also helped write the screenplay (or she wrote it all)!. i don't think she directed any other movies, though!. but Monster is a great film!. Theron won an Oscar for it, and Jenkins won an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature (as director) and nods at the Oscar's!.

but yep, there aren't many!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

hmm!.!.!. I can't think of any!.!. Harry Potter was written by a female!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
