Scary - try an oldie with Fred Astaire (it's in colour) called Ghost Story - it's good I promise!.
As for gory where to begin:
If you can get hold of them Faces of Death!. These are documentary type films showing the aftermath of some bad accidents!.
Bad Taste - an Australian cheap film but very gory and hilarious as well
Braindead - again pretty low budget but I think at one point this was rated as THE most gory film ever!.
Anthropophagus: The Beast (or maybe just The Beast) - an early film at the time video was taking off!. If you can get the original this is very gory!.
All Dario Argento's stuff tends to be quite bloody!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
