Change is shown throughout the whole movie!. The first meeting for practice it's clear that there was segregation!. the whites did not want to be told anything from a black coach & wanted nothing to do with the black members of the football team!. As you go throughout the movie during the football camp, Coach Boone forces them to get to know eachother and they eventually came togther!. Therefore changing their feelings of segregation to a FULL integrated, brotherhood type of football team!. The strength of the portrayal in this movie is that it's plain, simple, cut dry, and to the point!. The weakness of this portrayal is that it is totally predictable!. Typical football/sports/inspirational drama!.
