hi there!.!.just want to know if there was actually an indian elephant in the moulin rouge!.!.not the film the real moulin rouge!.!.was there a big statue indian elephant in real life like there is in the film or is there one there now!?!? if you do know if thre is one maybe you cud give me some info on it too

Saw a doco on baz luhrmann a while back!. They showed that the elephant was built in a studio!. And it although it was quite large it wasn't really as large as it is portrayed in the film!. But it was a fully built elephant!.!.!.with boudoir and everything!. And the scene where Satine and Christian sing on top of it, they had to be in a harness because it was still relatively high!. Unfortunately, they had to tear it down almost immediately after filming as the studio was booked for another film!.!.!.so there isnt an elephant still sitting around somewhere in Mr!.
