Question: #2 Question about "The Empire Strikes Back"!.!.!.!?
When Luke leaves Degobah to help Solo and Leia in the City in the Clouds!.!.!.Obi Wan says that Luke was there last hope, then Yoda says no there is another!. However, Obi Wan knows about Leia!. Why did he act like he didn't know!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

ok two things to say here
perhaps George didnt originally plan for Obi-wan to be that connected to it all in the prequels (who knows)
but there is somethibng most people dont know!.

did you watch the prequels!? i could pick out 5 easily just in passing!.
It doesnt list who,
but when Yoda says "There is another skywalker" he was not refering it turned out, to Leia but to a unknown skywalker!. Lucas later decided to keep it to Leia!.

Did you know that no one except Lucas knew that Luke and Leia were brother and sister untill the morning of the first day of shooting of ROTJ!?
He had kept that secret untill that time when he pulled Mark Hammil and Carrie Fisher aside to tell them!.!.
Word is after the first two movies it made them feel weird considering some of the story so far!.

Despite his wanting to seem like some genius who had all of this backstory scripted before he wrote Episode IV, it's obvious that he didn't!. Given what you know from Episodes I-III about Vader's ego and his relationship with the Emperor, why is he taking orders from Tarkin in Episode IV!? Isn't he the right hand man and the 'heir apparent!?' And really, after all those years, wouldn't Vader have already made a move on the Emperor!? He was ready to do it in Episode III, why would he wait 20 years!? Self restraint is not one of his qualities!. The list goes on and on!.!.!.
Bottom line, he may have had the idea in his "back story" that Vader was Luke's father, but the whole Leia being his sister part was, I think, just thrown in when it became obvious that there was a better storyline/chemistry between Leia and Solo rather than Leia/Luke!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am guessing that they made it up as they went along!. In A New Hope, Obi Wan states that Luke's father was a great pilot when he first met him, yet in Phantom Menace, we find he was just a boy!. Though lucky, I wouldn't call him a great pilot!.
As for a movie explaination, Just because Leia was Anakin's daughter, doesn't necessarily mean she is strong with the force in any signifigant way!. Perhaps Yoda was refering to someone else!. I guess you'll have to accept whatever answer works best for you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

There are significantly more inconsistencies between the new and old star wars movies than just this!.
For instance, in Jeci Leia says she remembers her mother (just a little bit)
But if you want a plausible explanation - how about sexism!.
There weren't any women Jedi, so maybe ObiWan didn't consider Leia an option!.

It was neccasary do to the dark side!. If anyone found out one could be turned into a weapon towards the other!.
also the movie didn't make clear that she was a force user like Luke!. The books go into her training and helping with the new Jedi accademy!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because I don't think Lucas ever really wrote Episodes 1 - 3, until after 4 - 6, or if he did he didn't have all of the details!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
