the tune is based on "when johnny comes marching home again"
dont know who has done it in the chuck soundtrack but they have based it on this tune

the childrens tune "the ants go marching in one by one" is in fact done to the tune of "when johnny comes marching home again " which in turn is the same tune as the old irish anti-war song "johnny i hardly knew ye" (its not known for sure which came first)
no problem :) happy to be of help and yes you are right this tune is an old confederate song but i have to say my knowledge of the song is limited to that (im not too strong on the civil war myself) but i hadnt thought of it as racist but more of an expression of peoples desire to see their loved ones return home safe from fighting the war!. certainly that is how i interprete the lyrics:

the song sounds liek that "The ants go marching 1 by 1 !.!.!." Im pretty sure it is but i have no idea what the name of the song is!.!.!.!. If you googled Ants Marching it would probably come up as the Dave Matthews Band !.!.a nd that is NOT it :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

To my knowledge it's just a kids song called The Animals Went In Two By Two!. It's about Noah's ark, but perhaps it is actually a piece of classical music and I never knew!Www@Enter-QA@Com
