OK there was a movie, and it started in an apartment, with a man, wife and child, the woman is making breakfast and the coffee pot is leaking and when she reaches over to plug in the toaster, it electrocutes her!.

It is in fact a Martin Sheen movie called the Believers!. The plot concerns a cult operating in NYC that targets Sheen's character's son when they move after the accident you remember!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
