As he reads the book it slowly brings back the memories!. That's why he said that it felt as though he knew the author; the author was him!. He went crazy and was in a mental hospital and when he was released he had no memories of what had happened!. Once he finished the book all his memories came back and he realized that he wrote the book!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
