How much does a High Definition Video camera cost?!
Question: How much does a High Definition Video camera cost!?
Because I am going to become a film maker, and instead of buying an expensive film camera, maybe one of these bad-boys would be good!.
Star Wars episodes 2 and 3 were both entirely filmed using a High Definition Video camera, and george lucas said he is not going to be shooting a movie in film again!.
Though the camera he used to shoot episode 3 costed $150,000, but I am not sure about episode 2!.
I have around AU$8000-8500 in the bank, but right now I am in grade 10 and unemployed!.
So I have researched this a bit but I am not exactly sure what these cameras are called, if you have any information on this or recommend a camera I can afford, I will appreciate it!.

For consumer grade High Definition camcorders, look at Canon's HV20 (there is a newer, updated model called the HV30 but it doesn't add many features to justify the increase in price)!. Pricing in the US is a little less than $700 for the HV20 and a hundred extra for the HV30!. It records on MiniDV tapes storing video in the HDV format!. It supports up to 1080p, including 24p support!.
As an alternative, you have Sony's line which are pretty competitive!. Their new line mostly uses AVCHD compression and some professional reviews generally have issues with noise in scenes with high-motion!. While not a deal-breaker, it is something to look into!.
