i am a college student in south texas, but my dream is to act!.!.!.i have decided that california would be the best place for me to go to pursue this dream, but i'm not sure what i need to do exactly!.!.!.i realize that it's a tough business to get into, and i will deffinately need a steady job while i pursue my acting career!. but what should i do!? do i finish school here, or transfer out there!? or should i finish school, then send applications out there!? or do i finish school, then move out there to find a job!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'd say regardless of what you do, finish school first!. Counting on having a successful acting career is a very bad move!. USC and UCLA both have very good theater departments, but if you don't really care, then just finish school where you are!. The vast majority of people that come out here to California never make it!. Keep this in mind!. You will notice that all waiters and waitresses in Hollywood are there to be actors/actresses!. If you come to California you will likely be in the same position!. You can work mainly and go for auditions on the side!. before you even go out there you have to find a job, because if things don't work out at least you'll have a plan B!. If its really your dream and you feel cali!. is the place you need to be to get there then go for it, no one can stop you and thats the best part about it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well it's a bit confusing but i've lived in both CA and TX and all i can say is if you already started in texas finish then transfer, if you haven't then search the web for colleges in Cali where you can get some type of degree in art or something in order to pursue that career!. Oh I Love California so freaking much!! go to cali, you won't regret a thing unlike texas, i hate living down here!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com
that would depend on your financial condition!. Things in Ca!. are very expensive compared to the rest of the country!. I would finish scool and then send out resumes for a posittion rather than a job !.Www@Enter-QA@Com
You should go there ASAP The younger you break into that business the better!. The older you get the less likely you will be to succeed!. also you want to get into a really good Theatrical school!. Look at some of the schools that the actors and actresses have been to!. I believe Heather Gram went to a really good one in CA!. Look it up!. Finish the rest of your time at the college you're at now, it will look great on your resemay!. Then after your education in that college go to wherever for acting college or whatever!. Move to California get a job exp!. McDonald's, a movie theater Whatever you would like until you get a career in acting but get someone like an agent once you've moved to California!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
FINISH SCHOOL!. look do your two years in Texas if you plan to move save at least 10 thousand dollars California is VERY expensive!. then when you get here what you can do is go to an agency to find jobs that pay your bills I used to go to Kelly Services in Santa Monica and they found me a great job ( does not have to be that agency just trying to help OK) first get your self settled here give it SIX months then start going to auditions in the computer look for acting agencies castings for all sorts of things!. do your homework while you are still in Texas then come here and make your dreams come true!. good luck and when you win your first Golden Globe do not forget to mention that someone on Yahoo answers gave you good advice(me)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Finishing college would probably be the best bet!. You can always do small films and plays and stuff while at college to get as much experience as you possibly can!. And on the off-chance that you don't make it in showbiz, you can always refer back to your college degree for a decent day job!.

Its all competition here in California!.
there are a lot of jobs as actors but there are tons of people going for the same role and it makes ur chances just so much harder!. Plus everyone comes to CALIFORNIA from all states just to make it in the movie bussiness so its really hard here unless you are really good!.
i would suggest you try and find something like tv shows or small movies that they are filming in your are and go for those!. that way you might get farther in the movie bussiness than you think!. California is great but very hard to make it!
