I just saw a commercial that they remade the movie "The Andromeda Strain&qu!

The whole idea of remakes or retreads of original work is nothing at all new!. The old studio system did it all the time!. They would grab a script from the bottom of the pile,dust it off and retool it for another actor or actress,turn it into a musical comedy or whatever the frieght would bare,sometimes with great results!. One example of this is ,"The Front Page" a stage play that went on to be filmed three times,once as a romantic comedy starring Cary grant and Rosaling Russell(in the original story,the two main characters are male) but other than that,they left the story intact and it's very funny(The working titile was,"His Girl Friday)!. In the case of,"The Women" about 10 years later,it was dusted off an turned into a musical comedy called,"The Opposite Sex" starring June Allyson in the Norma Shearer role!. Those are only two exaomles,but it proves that there's nothing new under the sun!. The trick is to make it fresh and new,a trick which very very few directors can pull off!. Look at,"The Stepford Wives" and "King Kong"!
By the way, the most re-made movie award goes to,"A Star Is Born" originally,it was called,"What Price Hollywood!?" then it was called "A Star Is Born"turned into a Janet Gaynor drama THEN turned into what many consider to be Judy Garland's masterwork and the best adaptation of the script!.
THEN Barbra Streisand took it and updated the plot(actually it didn't suck but it didn't get anywhere near what Judy Garland did with it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
