Help recalling a movie from the 1950s-1960s?!

There was a man and he met this woman, there was alot of singing in this movie!. The two were about to get married but his friend paid another woman to say that her kids were his!. and they had red hair!. So his fiance left and went to college!. It was an all girls university, he then applys and is finally accepted and then tries to win her back!.
