More likely, though, is that it is a paradox!. The first smart monkeys on the planet were the couple who travelled back in time (episode 3 if I recall correctly)!. Back in time, they gave a birth to the first child infant smart monkey!. This smart monkey probably reproduced to generate 2 smart monkeys, etc!. As such, as 3000 years passed by, the population of smart monkeys grew!.
