Sweeney Todd: Appropriate?!
Question: Sweeney Todd: Appropriate!?
Hey guys!. I know there are a few similar questions here, but I'm asking from the view of a teen rather then a parent!.
I'm 13 years old and I desperatly want to see the movie, Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street!. I know what the plot is about (barber who slits throats, landlord bakes them into pies) and I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to "take" this movie; I've seen a few killing scenes on youtube and they veren't very bad!. Besides, I can cover my eyes if I wnt to!. And I know I won't throw up, I have a strong stomach unless I get anxious!.!.!. but thats a different story! ^_^
However, I don't know how to ask my parents to watch an 18-A movie (it's 18-A here in Canada at least) and I've never seen a Restricted movie either!. I also want to know a bit more about the gruesome scenes because I've only seen a few, and they might be the "easier" ones!. What's your opinion on this film's gore!? And how should I ask my parents to get the best outcome, aka watch the movie!? ty XDWww@Enter-QA@Com

I am 13 not really a gore person but I got through!. most of the slitting is not that bad but their are some more gruesome ones but if you feel that you are able to handle it and cover your eyes than that no problem!.

it really tells the parental guide to sweeney todd!. If your parents dont let you than have a friend buy it and watch it at their house!.

It's very bloody, however the blood is done in a way so that it is not gross and you can tell it is fake!. They also make the gory scenes very humorous and fun, as interesting as that may seem!. It also has great musicWww@Enter-QA@Com

That movie is not too gruesome for you! It's really funny when they kill people!.!.!. or at least the way they kill people!. It's a good cultured broadway musical! Just ask your parents and I'm sure they'll approve!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The only reason it's rated R is because of the gore!. You might be able to mention this to them, highlighting the fact that there is little to none foul language!.
The scenes themselves are rather violent!. Some of the later killings make me squirm a bit, and I rarely flinch during horror movies!. The movie itself is magnificent however, and the killings make up very little of it!. I'd say they only take up maybe seven minutes of the two hours!. You could mention that, driving the fact that the entire movie isn't composed of blood!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i'm 13 and i've seen it twice!. it's really not that bad, and there's not as much killing as i expected at least!. try begging!. sorry i can't help you much more but my parents were a lot more open-minded and let me see it with no questions asked!. of course, they had to see it with me but they actually enjoyed it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
It's really not that much of a horror movie!. I mean, it came across to me as a musical!.!.!.not a horror!.
