It's wasn't that good, was it? Kind of tired old story, told much better the first time the movie was made in the 1940's or '50s. I never understood why they bothered to remake it.

i like the ending and how they fight for love.
For the time it was made in.. it was amazing. 90's was a new age for video, and the effects, although NOW, don't seem to great, but then it was miraculous! The music also was a great emotional move for the movie because it touched people and brought it "home" for them, and brought them more into the movie..

I liked most all of the actors and actresses in it. I thought it was a good movie. Just a matter of personal preference though.
Maybe because it's been made over 5 times. I'm sure there will be another before our lifetime is over. I'm waiting for another "Lethal Weapon" or another "Die Hard". Who really cares?

"Titanic" was and is,in every way, a BIG movie, almost like the movies they used to make and don't anymore. The special effect were spectacular,to say the least and all the millions that were spent to achieve the look and feel of the film are right up there on the screen. Then,there's the love story,which some found sappy,but I personally felt it was well-conceived and is really the heart and soul of the film. As I said,it's big in every way and even the disaster films of the 70's(The Poseidon Adventure,The Towering Inferno,etc) would have a way to go to match "Titanic's brilliant cinematography,(I especially liked the fades from the wreckage of the sunken debris to what it looked like in it's glory) and the costuming was superb. It was also the first telling of what actually happened,(through records and eye-witness accounts) of how the ship literally broke in two before sinking and the desperate efforts of the passengers to survive.
