Should I watch Schindler's List?!
Question: I just bought the movie Schinder's List on DVD because it was on sale for $5, and I've never seen it and had heard it was a good movie. BUT my husband, when he saw I'd bought it, said it's a horrible, nasty movie and I shouldn't watch it. Is it really that bad?

It's a very sad movie. But it's about the holocaust so it's not a feel good movie (though the man was one good apple). It is a very good movie though. I guess it depends what type movies you like. I like that one and the movie LIfe is Beautiful. Schindlers list was a good movie but it is about the holocaust so it is going to be a horrible movie because the holocaust was a horrible event in history.
It's a terribly haunting film, that being said, it is definitely worth watching. If you like it, the Pianist is incredible.
an absolute must see for everyone...your husband saying it is horrible in terms of the atrocities commited...
if you've seen requiem for a dream...it's horrible in that way...except worse...
I liked it but it is a very disturbing movie but thought provoking as well
its very sad and in parts disturbing, but the story is wonderful and what can you expect from a film about the holocaust? watch it, it's very thought provoking
Its one of the best movies of all times. Its not horrible and nasty its sad and a brutally honest look at the Holocaust. A must see for any movie buff.
It is a GREAT movie - one of Speilberg's best and that is saying a lot. It is sad and jolting at times but it's about the Holocost so you've got to expect that. Still it's really uplifting and a great true account of a man (Oskar Schindler) who saved hundred of Jews. I believe it won an Oscar for Best Picture so that should tell you how the critics received it. Liam Neesen, Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes give terrific performances. It's also one of AFI's 100 Best Films ever. Really, you must see it- don't listen to your husband on this one. I can't for the life of me understand what he means by "horrible, nasty movie".
Everybody should see it at some point. It is a very important film about a bad time in history.
