Any of the Halloween movies(Michael Myers) is good plus The Crow(the first one with Brandon Lee) is also a good choice.
You could try the Hannibal movies ... silence of the lambs, red dragon, Hannibal and Hannibal raising there really good!!

Anything BUT "Three Extremes..." And I'm serious. That was the MOST disgusting, gross, evil movie I've ever seen.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original) is actually "scary". It's not gory/gross out.
There's no such thing as a good recent horror movie.
