Does anyone undertsand THE RUINS movie?!
Question: I watched this movie the other day, but didnt understand at all. First of all whats up with those leave and flowers ringing phone bell, and that weird tribe peopl?
Why were they killing the americans, and why were the stuck up on that hill.?

The vines had some external power, which is why they could do all of those freaky things- make the cell phone noise, mimic their voices, etc. The vines turned the characters against each other by giving them false hope and mimicking what they said about each other behind their backs.
The tribe people (Mayans) were natives who knew the powers of the ruins, so they wanted it to be kept a secret and they did not want other people to find out about it. Thats why at first, they were only telling them to leave the ruins, but as soon as one of them touched a part of the ruins, they were ready to kill them, so they had no choice but to go on top of the ruins. The Mayans were so concerned about the powers of the vines that even when the little boy accidentally touched one of them, they killed him.
The villagers sacrifice people. The viens are supposed to be possessed.
That movie was pretty weird.
Ok, they found the ruins, then that native dude caught 'em. Then the whole tribe started coming. They couldn't leave because the vines are alive (deadly). They didn't know if the American's were infected with the plants, so they were going to kill 'em. They didn't want it to spread and give away their secret . Like when the girl threw a peace of moss at the little boy, they killed him.

Short Version:
Stacy kills Eric / Jeff kills Stacy / The natives kill Jeff
Amy is the only survivor.
Longer Verson:
The flowers mimic sounds, which is why they sounded like a ringing cell phone. When distracted by the flowers mimicking Stacy's voice, Matthias is choked to death by the weeds.
Later on, Stacy begins to grow weeds inside her body due to the cut on her knee. At one point, she attempts to cut them out herself, and goes mad, stabbing Eric in the chest. Bleeding to death from her own wounds, she begs Jeff to kill her too.
Jeff devises a plan so that at least Amy can get to safety. He carries her limp body to the bottom of the pyramid and distracts the natives long enough for Amy to get a running start to Dmitri's Jeep. The natives shoot Jeff several times with arrows. Then, as he is being consumed by the pyramid weeds, he is shot in the head to end the suffering. Amy makes it to the Jeep, starts it up, and drives back to civilization.
The movie immediately cuts to Matthias's friends approaching the pyramid, looking for him and Dmitri.
that movie is too good...........I loved it!
