the movie is about the ships sent to resuce survivors and why the government didn't want to help. There was a degree of animosity between the US and England over the Titanic which eventually led to America staying out of WW1 until late. The story follows one of the ship captain's and his young bride, he then goes off to war because he feels that he didn't do enough but will he survive? there is a car scene in it too ;-)

Yes...Jack returns as a ghost to Rose's bedside each night and they go back in time to try to save the ship.

No way. If there was a sequel it would have come out already. It's been 50 years.
If it does, I would have to put some serious consideration into offing myself.
