It's a little disturbing and gory and not at all the type of film you would expect. You can research it by typing the film title and these letters after it into a search engine like this,.... ( The Ruins imdb ) then you will get results from www.imdb.com which is a great movie site, it even describes movies that aren't out yet.
before you watch the movie you should read the book i hear its really good. and the book was a best seller

It's not as scary as other movies, but be warned that there is a substantial amount of gore. It's also pretty disturbing. If you're 13 years old and "have never seen a scary movie", I would probably recommend that you don't watch this... yet.
Yes it is a very suspenseful movie. Since this would be your first horror movie I suggest that you see it. This will give you a taste of what horror movies are like.
