go to this website

it shows the pages by the letter the start with. it shows the movie name, year it was made, book name, and year the book was published. It really helps .

Silence of the Lambs, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Cujo, Alice in Wonderland, lots of Stephen King books have become movies like the Shining and The Mist, I am Legend, War of the Worlds, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Clockwork Orange.

Hilarious book...subpar movie:

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Great books do not always become great movies, but here are several:
To Kill a Mockingbird--the emotional weight of the book, the
very human thoughtlines, and the gentle humor translate
well. Mary Badham gives an incredible performance as
young scout, as does Gregory Peck as her father, and
Brock Peters as Tom Robinson
The Cider House Rules--As in most John Irving books, the
search for an absent father drives the characters. The
cinematography and acting are superb
Slaughterhouse Five--I don't think I have seen Michael Glass
in anything else, but his turn as unstuck-in-time Billy
Pilgrim is stunning
Empire of the Sun--Not my favorite JG Ballard book, but
young Christian Bale is commanding as Jim. Maybe
some day a brilliant director can tackle The Unlimited
Dream Company
Note to Hollywood--Could some sensitive and brave director
cast Sean Penn as John Brown the Liberator and
Lawrence Fishburn as Frederick Douglas and make
a great film of Russell Banks' Cloudsplitter?!!?
