12 angry men,why do you think the movie took place in only one room?!

Question: Because the whole movie was centered around a jury coming to their verdict. That only takes place in one room.

Answers: Because the whole movie was centered around a jury coming to their verdict. That only takes place in one room.

to intensify the emotional pressure. because you don't need any other rooms. because the director / writers had enough guts to focus on the story and the acting and avoid a lot of unnecessary distractions.

Only one room was needed. None of the cast had a real name. They were all juror no. 1-12. No one has a name until the end of the movie. It is a very good movie no matter how many rooms it took place in.

I just watched that in my interpersonal communications class! good movie... but it was all about the jury

It takes place in the jury room and they don't let you out (except for lunch and maybe overnight) until you reach a decision.

This film is one of those rare occasions where Hollywood din't monkey around with a good thing. Usually, screen adaptations of plays are"opened up" usually so as not to have a static,or"filmes stage play"look to a film. In this case the were right on the button because the action is all about the jurors, what emotional baggage they bring to the trial, how they deal with(or don't deal with)the power they have over the defendant and one man's struggle to find the truth, despite being, bullied and browbeaten to go with the staus quo.
Powerful writing and performances all around especially between Lee J.Cobb and Henry Fonda(who brings his "everyman persona" and uses it to great effect)
