Is this a zen riddle? Okay: first off, Robert did have a friend, his Dog. Sort of the best actor in the whole movie, that dog. Anyway, is it because Donkey is reaching out to belong in some way in a world where there is only one of him? There are no other talking donkeys around, so he must adapt himself to a another peer group, in this case, Shrek, and eventually all the other hunted magical/mythic creatures. Robert is the same way. There is only one of him and he has to create a peer group out of what is around him. His dog, the manquins (yes, I know I spelt it wrong), whatever is about. Like donkey, Robert must hide and seek protection, otherwise he will be harmed,in Robert's case, mutant vampires. How's that sound? Yeah, no? Hmmm.

who is robert so in so... that is will smith.. wow. go watch the movie again. and it was about his little girl and how the boy reminded him of his child...
the fact that he dint hav any frends and hes alone. Shrek is his protector, and donkey feels safer w/ shrek. if donkey leaves shrek, hell prbly get hurt somewhere else. the same thing with robert. he's lonely and hes safer with the other family.

are u asking that because u know something we dont or do u want to know wat does that part have to do wih the movie? basically i think the character was goin a little mad and he watched that movie so many times that he knew the words by heart already.....
I think he was just trying to put the little boy at ease with him(Neville) cause he scared the little boy earlier in the movie when he through that plate.
They didn't have anything in common, the producer was just showing that Robert Neville had nothing better to do but watch movies and mess around.
