Star trek. It's been around since the 60's!! and it's been a hit ever since. my dad and I watch it allll the time.
Well, I prefer STAR WARS, but STAR TREK is also good!!
Star Trek can be related to the actual future potentiality of our NASA and interplanetary travel - - Star Wars is a fantasy originated by George Lucas to manifest his abstract notion of a "cosmic" Force interpenetrating the universe with a kind of yin and yang (positive energy and the "dark side")

This must be a "busy" week ... this is the third time I've answered this question:
I like them both but Star Wars wins by a landslide. The most ironic part of this is that aside from the fact that they both have the word Star in their titles and that they, for the most part, occur in space ... they really are nothing alike.
Star Trek is a earth based story about outer space. Star Wars has nothing to do with earth and happens in a galaxy far, far, away.
Both are great stories but Star Wars is better IMHO.

I like both also but Star Wars will always win in my heart. Truth be told other than the fact that they both have the word "STAR" in their titles and the fact that a lot of the action in both happens in "outer space" they are nothing alike and truly can't be compared. Star Wars is a Sci-Fantasy movie while Star Trek is a Sci-Fi movie ... yes, there is a huge difference. Star Wars happens, to steal the most repeated line, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Star Trek is "human" based and shows one possibility of the way "Earthlings" will someday spread throughout this galaxy and beyond. In the end they both serve their "main" purpose ... to turn fans into "nerdy geeks" ... simple but true ... lol ...

Without a doubt, Star Wars.
Star Wars has a very rich and detailed universe filled with diverse characters and creatures. Villains and heroes. As opposed to Trek, which has these really bland characters and not so great special effects as compared to Star Wars.
Why do you think there's a Star Wars convention every year?
