Question: I am thirteen and i really want to see the movie Sweeney Todd. now, i know that it is gory and stuff but is it really that bad? especially if u already know whats gonna happen? plz help me cuz my dad has to watch the movie before i can!!!

i'm 18 and loved it. parts of it are very bloody, but it is done so over the top that it is not necessarily scary. i saw the play itself a bunch of times a while before the movie but the violence is very different so knowing its coming is not always helpful. i have a very high tolerance for blood and stuff so my opinion is skewed, my mom sat in the theater with her eyes covered and still kind of felt sick. as reference points, it is kind of like pan's labrinyth or reservior dogs in terms of graphic unnecessary violence. if you have been allowed to see those. if your dad thinks those are too violent then you should probably wait. all of the actors and the music and everything are amazing and they make it clear when someone is about to die so there are strategic stop watching points if your dad will accept that as a compromise. don't know if that helps
It is okay...I mean, the gore is a bit much, but not in the sense that it's gross...it's just kind of obviously fake, yet it's a little bit over-kill. It will have an effect on your appetite for a day or two, just merely because it will make you suspiscious of meat... The first couple kills will make you shudder, and it'll drag on a bit in the middle killing wise, but there are three cringe worthy deaths at the end that are definitely the grossest scenes...Over all, I think you'd be able to see it at thirteen, but maybe not if you have a very weak stomach...
the movie is really dark and the trailers do it no justice. if you are a fan of Tim Burton you will like this movie. the blood is very over the top and not actually scary just violent. but if you are thirteen and your dad has to watch it first the ending will have him decide that you can't watch it. the storyline itself is violent and demented but the movie really is worth it. i hope he lets you watch it because it really is good.
