Unfortunately, I don't think there is a feature film available about the Trojan War that is true to facts. While Troy is certainly entertaining, it tends to bend the facts too much. An educational film (though I cannot recommend one) would be best if you are looking for a film. But if you just want information, yes, you should read the Iliad or an abridged version if you don't have that much time.

im not sure how accerate Troy is but its a pretty darn good movie and imdb.com is a good place to look though
