`Eyes Wide Shut`/`Open Your Eyes`- Does Anyone Understand???!

Question: Both films are inscrutable unless you`re on the other side of madness. Then you`ll probably say, `That`s what I mean. That`s what I`m trying to tell you`.

For most of us both films are inscrutable.

Kubrick`s film deals with obsession and submission; but from the viewpoint of a liberal and thus the dragging and sadism is in counterpoint.

The Spanish film deals with obsession, submission and cybernetics which is euphemistically referred to as cyrogenics possibly because with cybernetics the person is de facto dead as they have no real interaction with the present as friends, colleagues (anyone encountered) are manipulated by mind control.

The bondage, dragging, disfigurement which are central to the Spanish film are not in counterpoint. The characters are set up to deserve their Fate. They are vain, competitive and successful. Somehow the Judges who are vainer, more competitive and more successful are exempt.

Have you seen and do you understand?

I didn't like 'Eyes wide shut' I thought it was boring. 'Open your eyes' was fantastic and was much better than 'Vanilla sky. 'Vanilla sky' tried to explain too much but 'Open your eyes' let you fill in the blanks.

yes and I do ,Thankyou ,Have a nice day
